London has already welcomed autumn temperatures. At the turn of the month we had to grab an extra jumper and scarf to get out of the door. Steadily as the week went by, we forgot we could wear a t-shirt and sandals. Saturday was possibly the last of BBQ days with a sun kissed day with a high of 25 C, which is a wow factor for London in the middle of September. Maddening as these weather changes might be, there is an upside to the turn of the season: cucumbers remain crisp and pomegranates are back on market stalls. I am sure you all remember the challenges for the food blog awards. Working with humble ingredients is great inspiration. Pulses have been on the menu and the dishes are getting healthier and healthier, in a truly Greek manner. I made a black-eyed beans stew with greens, seskoula, these taste a bit like chard, spinach and added a few raisins and pine nuts.
